Resole (Recraft)

A resole replaces the worn outsole (and often the heel) of a stitched shoe, returning a welted or Blake-constructed boot to service for a fraction of replacement cost. It is the mechanism behind the whole cost-per-wear argument for expensive footwear: a $300 welted boot resoled twice over a decade can cost less per wear than cheaper cemented shoes replaced yearly. The catch is that the math only works if you actually do it — many people let good boots die instead. Before paying for welted construction, confirm a resole path (brand recraft program or a local cobbler) exists.
