FAQ · Chinos & Pants

What’s a good chino fabric weight?

For a year-round chino, a mid-weight cotton twill around 9–11 oz is the sweet spot: it drapes cleanly, holds a crease, and survives real wear without going sheer under strain. Lightweight ~7 oz chinos are summer trousers — cool but wrinkle-prone and thinner. A small amount of elastane (1–3%) adds comfort stretch without turning them into activewear; much more than that and durability and drape start to suffer. As with all fabric specs, the weight and fiber content predict how the trouser wears far better than the styling or fit name, so look for the number on the spec sheet.
