This is a false fight: ring-spun describes how the yarn was spun, combed describes how the fiber was prepared, and the best tees are "combed ring-spun" — both at once. If you have to choose one word on a spec sheet, combed does slightly more for pill resistance while ring-spun does more for strength and softness, but neither alone guarantees a good tee. Weight (GSM) and construction still decide the piece. Treat "combed ring-spun cotton" as the quality floor for a staple tee, and be skeptical of a premium price when only one of the two is claimed.
