Crewneck vs V-Neck Basics

For a basics rotation, crewnecks are the higher-value default: they work worn alone, layered, or under a shirt, so each one gets worn more — which is exactly what lowers cost per wear. V-necks have a real job as an under-layer where you do not want a collar peeking out, and a shallow V can look clean; deep Vs are a stronger style statement and date faster. Own mostly crewnecks and add a couple of shallow V-necks if you actually layer them. As with any tee, the fabric weight, cotton grade, and fit matter far more than the neckline to whether the shirt is worth buying.
